We took this Gilmerton lawn over in April. The front garden was patchy, thin and full of weeds. Since then it has been on our treatment and maintenance plan: feeding, weed control and regular cutting through the season. A few months later it is thick, green and striped. Plans run over 12 months, and it is never too late in the year to start.

Lawn Care in Prestonpans
This Prestonpans garden is on our treatment and maintenance plan, front and back. When the lawns need feeding, we feed them. When we see weeds, we spray them. And when the grass is growing too fast, we slow it down so it doesn't race away between cuts. Both lawns are thick, dark green and striped now, and they'll stay that way as long as the plan keeps running.

This Wallyford lawn came to us rough and uneven, coarse tufts and clumps sitting proud with thin ground showing between them. It's on our treatment and maintenance plan now: fed on a schedule, weeds treated as they appear, and cut regularly so the growth stays even instead of running away in lumps. It's level and striped from end to end these days, and the plan is what keeps it there.

What Matters Here for Lawn Care in Roslin
The glen
Roslin Glen is the deepest woodland on our patch, and gardens near it live in its climate: filtered light, still air, damp autumns. Beautiful for walking, hard on grass. Moss pressure here is constant rather than seasonal.
The village lawns
Away from the glen edge the village opens up, and its cottage and family gardens behave more like ordinary Midlothian lawns: clay that wants air, moss in the north corners, and grass that responds fast to a proper feed rhythm.
The approach
We treat Roslin as a shade town: more scarifying than average, shade-tolerant seed as standard, and honest conversations where a tree line has decided what a corner of lawn can ever be. There is nearly always more good lawn available than the moss suggests.
